Lately (the past 2 months), I find myself physically doing this. SERIOUSLY! Don't know why (I'm stressed)? I am busy, but who isn't these days (My mom would say I am TOO busy). I wonder if I am waiting for the next shoe to drop (thing that I forget to do). I have a lot of irons in the fire (being a wife, mom, volunteer in the classroom, 8th grade promotion helper, Honor Roll chairman, trek, humanitarian specialist at church, helping a friend move, making a 2nd grade slideshow, planning an end of the year party, helping another friend move - why do my friends ALWAYS move?)
Breathe.
I think most of this stuff has wrapped up, because it is the end of the school year. I can take a big breath. Now, is this the time I tell you that starting July 1, 2011 I am the newly voted in 8th grade promotion council member and the VP of the parent organization at my children's school? Well, I am.
Time to breathe.

Balls, Guts, Nerve
Do you remember the post I did about Agent J's preschool teacher here?
Well, apparently I have a lot of balls when it comes to talking to preschool teachers. Let me explain.
I was asking Sara if she remembered my son and me. She had him for 2 years, but that was over 10 years ago. We did become close in that time and I did invite Sara over for lunch one day at my house. She was and is the best! But alas over time, I had lost touch with her. So this reunion in my backyard was the best! I even got out old class pictures and his old Thomas the Train drawings.
Sara said she TOTALLY remembers me. She said that one day I came into volunteer in the classroom and I told her the Agent J started swearing. My boy was in this preschool class because he had speech concerns, so everyone was watching what he said all the time. Sara was concerned and wanted to know what he was saying so she could nip it in the bud and also find out who was saying swear words around Agent J. Apparently, I went on the explain that he was saying, "Oh my G-O-D." I explained to her that we viewed that expression as saying the Lord's name in vain and we didn't want Agent J, our little 4 year old saying it. Ms. Sara quickly admitted that she said that phrase all the time and that she had no idea that she was swearing. She told me that because of that story, she now says, "Oh my gosh."
I bring this up on this Monday, because apparently one of our swimming guests kept saying that phrase around Sweetie, our now 4 year old. Sweetie would hear the phrase and say, "That's a bad word!" Too funny. I guess I have learned to train my children and not have to approach preschool teachers or neighbors. I still can't believe I said that to a teacher. I had a lot of nerve. Some people would say I still have that nerve.

RHM (red headed monkey) - class awards
Cute class, huh? I would volunteer in this room every Thursday or Friday the last semester of this school year. Such a great group of students, parents and friends. I love this group.
Cute, huh?
Patricia was the main homeroom mom for this party - such a great friend.
These are the parents getting ready for the awards.
Yep, this one is mine. So proud of the way he poses for pictures. What a serious and responsible kid.
The students LOVED the awards and it was wonderful!
Miss Campeau is the best and we will miss her when our kids move up to 2nd grade, but at least we have Kindergarten and 2nd grade to look back with fond memories.
At this point in the awards, we showed a 10 minute slide show of the school year for the kids. I made it and it was my gift to Miss Campeau. I love her! She is the BOMB!
Below is part of her wonderful speech at the end of the award ceremony. I had to rush upstairs to help at Mr. Smith's 6th grade party, but my heart was in 2nd grade. I love 2nd grade. (ramblings - my favorite teacher was Mrs. Griswold my 2nd grade teacher. It is the best grade EVER!)

At the end when my camera battery was dying, my Princess sang, "All Star", but alas there is no video of this scene. Poor thing. Maybe next year.

Swimming week 2 - getting better
Nancy is stilling working with my baby girl (she's 4 yrs old, but still my baby)!
Sweetie can roll over to breathe, but needs to work on relaxing while she is floating on her back. Nancy is very patient with her. We will be taking more lessons in June and hopefully on Sweetie will become a fish like her siblings.

| Sweetie found a ring on the bottom step. J-man is swimming to Nancy - you just can't see Nancy in this picture. No worries. TJ is getting ready to practice his monkey crawl. |

Ms. Sara
The coolest thing happened this week. Agent J ran into his very first teacher in our very own backyard! When Agent J was 4 and 5 years old, he went to Las Brisas for a special need pre school program. He had a speech issue and Ms. Sara was heaven sent.
Come to find out that Ms. Sara now has 3 kids and she signed them up for swim lessons with Nancy in MY BACKYARD! It was the coolest surprise. I loved seeing her and Agent J even remembers her. It was cool to brag about my boy and how far he has come since he was 5 years old. He is the best boy ever and Ms. Sara is the best too! Small, small world.

Honor Roll Ceremony and Reception
I really don''t have words to express how glad I am this event went off without too many hitches. It was planned and organized by me, but Karen the sectretary helped me every bit of the way.
Rupa and Judy did the food - little chessecakes, brownies, and cream puffs.
Teri did the ice and water bottles.
Uma did the decor.
Holly and Marlene passed out programs.
Patricia and her son organized the awards.
It was a great event to honor the academic achievements at our school. The students are hard working and amazing and they deserve the best. I hope everyone had great evening.
