Just a quick HI!

The play is going great! The kids are having fun! Princess said on the way home the first night, "Mom, next time you hear about tryouts for a play; count me in!" I love it!

It is not too late! Are you going to come see the play? I know you want to.

Memorial Day weekend...

We like to go play in a softball tournament on this weekend.
Due to an untimely loss of a loved one, Travis' team didn't play in the tournament this year. Travis managed to jump ship and play on the Father and Son team, which is mostly SONS now a days. More about the tournament later...

SO...timeline
Friday after the kids' last day of school, we take off to Showlow, AZ for the tournament. Well, this year we had a SURPRISE! SNOW! In the mountains there was snow. There was no snow at the cabin where we stay, but there was snow on 80% of one of the softball fields. IT WAS CRAZY! I mean think about it. Snow... in AZ... in May!

Saturday morning...SAM, the hero,
  • drove to the snow topped mountains,
  • shoveled snow in the back of his truck for 45 minutes,
  • and drove the snow back to the cabin and let the kids play in the snow!

IT ROCKED!

Sam, the hero, has his back to the camera in this shot, but he is cute, fun, and available! Any single sisters in the house?
Oldest.
Princess, looking serious, but her hands were just frozen.

Sunday - We decided to take a trip to Snowflake to visit the other temple in AZ. So, what do you do when you visit a temple? Take your picture in front, right? We did that. Check.

Here is where things get a little gray. What do you do if you are the only one on temple grounds, because it is Sunday and the temple is closed? Well, if you are me, you let your family crawl on the fountain in front of the temple and pray that no one is watching. (I know that sounds ridiculous. I know someone is always watching, esp. at the temple. Can you tell I still feel guilty about the next 2 pictures. Argh! Oh, well! It was still fun and we created a memory.)

Princess is eating on top, Oldest is coming down, and RHM is running to get his turn on top.
RHM on top and Dad trying to keep up!
RHM found an awesome rock chair.
It was really windy, so their eyes are closed! It would have been such a cute picture. Darn!

MONDAY: back to softball.
The boys played 2 games on Saturday and lost each game. I attended both of those games. Then on Monday I decided to skip the morning game, THEY WON! Then I came for the second game, the team lost. :( I think I was bad luck! After that, the tournament was over.

It wasn't cold, just very windy - hence the hat!

So then, we took the kids to the Go-Cart Race Track!

Dad and RHM
Oldest (before his hat fell off and got "eaten" by other go-carts)
Princess "pretending" (she did race on the real track, too)
RHM on the bouncy house slide
Sweetie playing while the kids raced.

Then whole trip was fun with games all weekend. We always have fun on this trip.

Tuesday - we left for home and went right back into our routine.
PLAY PRACTICE!

Don't forget to come see the play this Thursday, Friday, and (2 shows) Saturday! I mean it! Please come.

Arrow of Light

Oldest made us proud by earning Cub Scouts highest honor tonight!
The Arrow of Light.

The painting is not part of the award, more of a tradition in our pack (and many others). This is the only award that you earn in Cubs and it goes on your Boy Scout uniform, too! Very special.
Each color stands for a virtue. 7 total. Represented by the 7 rays on the arrow. The stick we are looking at has the colors/virtues.
I did my best to paint his face in a cool way. He wanted to go to the bathroom RIGHT AFTER to look in the mirror.
My boy is growing up so fast!
He and one other boy earned it tonight. This is a friend of his since they were 3 years old. Now they are 11 years old. His friend is moving to Tucson this weekend and we will miss this family. Hopefully, we will still see them since they are in the same state. (Crossing my fingers)

Honor Roll Reception

I forgot my camera, so I need to thank my friends for these pictures!

My Princess was happy to be there. Too bad we didn't make it through the whole night. I left after Princess' award, for a play meeting and then Travis left 15 minutes later with all 4 kids! It was a nice event, but note to self - next year, GET A BABYSITTER! Sweetie wouldn't sit still.
Princess is the one in the middle receiving her ribbon for Teacher's Honor Roll! YOU GO GIRL!

Save the Date / Come Early to get a good seat or to get a seat at all.

The older two kids and I are in the play. I have one line in the court room scene, so don't blink or you will miss me! I am very proud of this play and want anyone that can come to support this play!
It has taken a lot of time away from my family, but I think the end result will enrich our Stake and my kids as well.
PLUS, it is FREE!
no excuses - just come

Special day for my Red Headed Boy

He graduated from preschool today! (He is my first to do so. The older two were home schooled for the preschool years. So neglected.)

He was so excited and had a great day!

He also has been taking swim lessons all week and FREEZING!!!

Having fun learning to dive. He is doing great and loves the breast stroke.
